For 2016 expect to see quartz worktops that mimic the beauty of nature.

We are seeing market leaders like Caesarstones new range gaining popularity in Top End Kitchens. Colours like the Bianco Drift, Calacatta Nouvo, and Piatra Grey that mimic the veining of natural marble are very fashionable and many designers are incorporating this look into their kitchens for 2016.

The traditional black and white marble look of carrara and stauario have always been popular and been shown in most the industries magazines however if you are going to practically use your kitchen, would I honestly recommend it to any of my clients?

The answer is I would give them all the relevant information and highlight all the cons, and if the romance of the marble is too much for them to resist then at least they have the knowledge to cope with how it will age and build up a patina over time. But now if you don’t want your worktop to age, scratch or acid etch, but you want that natural, look the possibilities are there. That is why the trend that we are forecasting for 2016 is the natural colours of quartz worktops.

See the image below:

All the beauty of natural stone but in a quartz worktop. So our prediction in our humble opinion is that it’s out with the old hat quartz of plain solid colours and large mirror chips; though these will still be popular, we see these on a downward trend and in with the new marble veined looking quartz worktops.

Exciting times as the manufactured and man made worktops  starts to mimic the natural granite worktops!
